FAQ

Q008.

Do you have recommended soldering conditions for Coin type Rechargeable Lithium Batteries?

A008.

Please confirm the recommended conditions for soldering below.

(1) Soldering Iron Usage

Please ensure that the soldering iron does not come into direct contact with the main body. Perform the soldering quickly at a tip temperature of approximately 350°C for 5 seconds or less, and ensure that the temperature of the battery body does not exceed 85°C (125°C for high-temperature resistant types).

(2) Automatic Solder Dip Tank

Soldering is possible under certain conditions, but ensure that the temperature of the battery body does not exceed 85°C (125°C for high-temperature resistant types). Please be aware that the temperature environment within the dip device may cause the temperature of the battery body to rise due to residual heat after dipping. In such cases, consider the temperature environment, shorten the time, and consider forced cooling after dipping.

Basic Conditions

Solder Dip Tank Temperature: Below 260°C

Dipping Time: Within 5 seconds

Number of Dips: Up to 2 times

Also, please be aware that soldering under the following conditions is prohibited.

(1) Reflow Soldering

Directly heating the battery body can lead to leakage, deterioration of characteristics, and the risk of rupture or ignition.

(2) Direct Soldering of Terminals

Do not directly solder terminals to coin-type lithium batteries. There have been cases of actual deterioration of battery characteristics due to the heat during soldering.
